Work on women park, road kicks off in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Work on a women park and asphalting of one kilometer road has begun in the 11^th Municipality District of capital Kabul, an official said.

Kabul Municipality Spokesperson Sameera Rasa said the road is 1,083 meters long and 11 meters wide. Culverts and footpath will also be built as part of the road project, she said.

She did not say how much fund was going to be spent on the project but added the municipality was paying for the project.

A women park will also be constructed with a sports ground, children playing facilities, coffee shop, bathrooms, chairs, plantation and greenery.

She said earlier the park area was usurped by an individual but it was decided to construct a women park on the land after it was recovered.
