KABUL/FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a blacksmith in central capital Kabul and a police officer was killed, and three others wounded in a landmine explosion in western Ghor province.
Kabul police spokesman Firdous Faramaz confirmed the incident in Qala-i-Kashif area of Kabul. Faramarz identified the slain as Fazl-ul-Karim but did not disclose his profession.
But a source wishing anonymity told Pajhwok Afghan News that Fazl-ul-Karim was a blacksmith..
The source said no one has so far been arrested in connection with the murder but police have started investigating the case.
Separately, a police officer was killed and three others wounded as a result of a landmine explosion in Dawlatyar district of western Ghor province.
District governor, Mohammad Musa Kalim told Pajhwok Afghan News the blastt on Monday afternoon targeted police on the way to their check-point in DehMorda village in Dawlatyar district. He said one police officer was killed in the blast and three others wounded.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
Dawlatyar district lies on Ghor-Kabul highway, 75km east of the provincial capital Firozkoh.
