KABUL (Pajhwok): Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, has condemned Pakistan’s latest attacks on Afghanistan and called on the country to stop the killing of innocent Afghans.
Khalilzad wrote on his X account today that the news coming from Afghanistan was deeply distressing, saying that Pakistani airstrikes had once again caused casualties among civilians, including children.
He added that, as in the past, he strongly condemned the attacks and said that the killing of innocent Afghans must stop.
It is worth noting that early ton Thursday morning, the Pakistani military carried out airstrikes on civilian homes in Kunar and Helmand provinces.
Zabihullah Mujahid, chief spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said that Pakistan bombed civilian homes on Thursday in Chogam area of Shaltan district in Kunar and Safar area of Garmsir district in Helmand.
He added that nine people, including women and children, were martyred, while 11 others were wounded in the attacks, and three houses were also destroyed.
He condemned the attacks, describing them as aggression and a crime in violation of all accepted principles.
