Policewoman killed in Jalalabad gun attack

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a policewoman in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Thursday, an official said.

Nangarhar police spokesman Farid Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News the female cop was gunned down in Jalalabad’s fourth police district at around 7am.

He said the policewoman, posted at the provincial police headquarters, was killed on the way to office.

Farid Khan added two suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder.

Gulzada Sangar, spokesman for the Jalalabad Zonal Hospital confirmed receiving the dead body of the female cop. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing.
