KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Agricultural Development Fund (AADF) has set aside 2.2 billion afghanis to lend returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) money who are interested in investing in agriculture sector.
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation signed an agreement in this regard with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock which administers AADF.
Secretary Finance and Repatriation SherAlamAmlawal said the loan will be given to repatriates and IDPs who were interested to invest in agriculture sector.
Eligible individuals for the loan would be introduced by the agriculture minister to the AADF to get the loan.
AADF Head EmalArman said according to this program 1.8 million afs will be distributed to working women while the remaining will get 3.4 million afs.
He said in the first year 250 million afs, second year 325 million afs, third year 425 million afs, fourth year 549 million afs, fifth year 714 millinafs will be distributed to agriculture businesspersons, organizations, cooperative farmers and livestock owners.
The loan will help them improve their business, he added.
