Power pylon damaged in Parwan, says DABS

KABUL (Pajhwok): A power pylon has been damaged as a result of a landmine explosion in Jangalbagh area of Parwan province, Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) said on Sunday.

However, the power utility explained in a statement that imported electricity supply to the province remained uninterrupted

DABS said the “enemies of light” once again targeted a power pylon at around 4:35am.

DABS Director Eng. Roohullah Sajid blamed the enemies for planting four landmines beneath the power pylon. Two of them exploded and security forces neutralised the two others.

The statement said DABS technical staff was currently on the site to repair the damaged part of the pylon.

But security forces did not allow the staff because they were checking the area for more landmines. DABS said the imported electricity supply remained stable.

In the last three months, over 30 power pylons carrying imported electricity have been blown up and most of the incidents have occurred in Parwan province.
