Afghanistan’s 102nd Independence day celebrated today (Thursday)

KABUL (Pajhwok): Pajhwok Afghan News congratulates the entire nation on the occasion of 102^nd anniversary of re-claiming independence.

Back in 1919 Afghanistan under the leadership of King Amanullah Khan defeated British and re-claimed the country’s independence.

In the past this day was celebrated with national zeal but since an attack on the Independence back in 2008, the event is celebrated simply.
