186 tons of health supplies reach Afghanistan in 2 months: WHO

<p style="text-align: justify;">KABUL (Pajhwok): World Health Organization (WHO) on Sunday said that 186 metric tons of health supplies arrived in Afghanistan in the last two months that can help 2.5 million people in the country.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">WHO in a tweet today said that the items were transferred to Kabul in nine flights. These aid shipments of WHO included medicine and medical tools which is enough for 2.5 million people in the country, it said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The source said that the aid would be distributed to all healthcare centers in Afghanistan.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the collapse of Afghanistan into the hands of Taliban, WHO had warned about the collapse of health system in the country and asked the international community not to leave Afghanistan alone.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A few days back, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) said that it would pay the salaries of 25,000 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.</p>
