KABUL (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai and head of the previous government’s National Reconciliation Council, Dr. Abdullah, met with Iranian president’s special envoy and asked for Iran’s continued assistance with Afghans.
Hassan KazemiQami, the Iranian president’s special envoy to Afghanistan, arrived in Kabul three days ago to hold talks with Afghan officials on regional, economic and other issues.
Former president Karzai in a twitter post said that he met with Hassan KazemiQami today, Thursday, and discussed with him relations between the two countries.
He thanked Iran for its assistance to Afghanistan and called for the country’s continued assistance with the Afghan people.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah also in a twitter post said that he also met with the Iranian president’s special envoy today.
He said that Hassan KazemiQami assured his country’s cooperation in areas of economic growth, investment, improvement of humanitarian situation and education in Afghanistan. Abdullah also called on Iran to continue its assistance with the people of Afghanistan.
