KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven individuals, including Pajhwok Afghan News editor of investigative reports Abasin Zaheer, have won the annual United Nations Development Program (UNDP) award in the fight against corruption.
The awards are conferred on these persons today (December 9) — on the International Anti-Corruption Day in Kabul.
The day was celebrated in Kabul by the Afghan Paramount Welfare Development Organization (APWDO) with financial support from the UNDP.
Dozens of university professors, journalists and members of civil society attended the event.
In honor of the day, UNDP provided awards to Pajhwok’s Abasin Zaheer and six others.
The six other recipients of the awards were university lecture Gul Rahman Rahmani, religious scholar SafiullahArbzada, civil society member Shah Wali Ahmad, Omaid organization staffer Bashirullah and civil society activist AzizullahTawakuli.
Pajhwok had also won the award last year.
