KABUL (Pajhwok): Sixteen historical artefacts have been transferred to the museum of the Information and Culture Department of western Ghor province, the department said on Thursday.
Mawlawi Abdul Hai Zaeem, head of Information and Culture in the province, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the 16 artefacts were discovered in the jurisdiction of Shahrak district by intelligence forces and handed over to the department’s museum on Thursday.
He said the artefacts include a broken statue, utensils, kohl containers, buttons and some decorative stones, which were recovered by the provincial intelligence department and officially handed over to the museum.
He added that the historical period and age of the artefacts will soon be determined by archaeologists.
It is worth noting that previously, 11 historical artefacts discovered in Dowlatyar district of Ghor were also transferred to the same museum.
