GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Five hundred farmers in Ahmadabad, Syed Karam, and Zurmat districts of southeastern Paktia province were distributed technical agriculture equipment on Sunday, an official said.
Paktia Agriculture Department Director Maulvi Abdul RaufSaeed told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Today we distributed technical agriculture equipment among 500 farmers.”
The equipment included apple crops collection machinery, spray machinery, scissors, saws, and other tools.
He said the Agriculture Department will continue assisting farmers in the future by providing them support in their daily farming activities.
Naik Mohammad, one of the farmers, said: “We are really happy that we have been provided with technical equipment. This will help us a lot and our agriculture will be professionalized.”
He said most farmers in Paktia have planted orchards and they should be provided with technical equipment to develop their farms.
