KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi has called on the World Health Organization (WHO) to cooperate with Afghanistan in treating cancer patients and provide Omicron diagnostic kits to Afghanistan.
EnamullahSamangani, deputy spokesman of the government, on Tuesday tweeted that Mulavi Abdul Salam Hanafi met with Dr.LuoDapeng, WHO representative in Afghanistan, and HamedJafari, in charge of WHO vaccination program in the country.
He said Hanafi discussed health related problems in Afghanistan with WHO representatives and asked them to provide kits for the diagnosis of Omicron variation of coronavirus for Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Hanafi asked WHO to cooperate in treatment of Afghans suffering from cancer caused by conflicts, bombings and the use of various types of gunpowder in the past 40 years.
“The Islamic Emirate does not tolerate corruption and NGOs must also follow the procedures seriously so it would help prevent any chance for graft,” he said.
