KABUL (Pajhwok): The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has hailed the re-opening of public universities for male and female students.
On its Twitter handle, UNAMA wrote: “Tomorrow can be the start of something truly important for Afghanistan. UN welcomes the announcement that public universities will begin reopening February 2. So crucial that every young person has equal access to education.”
Earlier, Higher Education Minister Abdul Baqi Haqqani had announced the re-opening of state-run universities from Feb. 2 in hot areas and from Feb. 26 in cold parts of the country.
