KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of cooking oil has decreased while that of Arabian gold increased during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.

Zamarai Safi, head of Food Traders Union in Kabul, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil has decreased from 2,850 afghanis to 2,700 afghanis this week.

However, he said that the price of 24.5 kilograms of Pakistani rice was 2,500afs, a bag of 49kg of Kazakhstani flour 2,450afs, a bag of 49kg of Indian sugar 2,800afs, a kilogram of African black tea 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea 350afs, the same rates of last week.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahan-i-Bagh area of Kabul said that the price of a bag of 49kg of Kazakhstani flour was 2,500afs, 24kg of rice 2,550afs, 49kg of Indian sugar 2,850afs , a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian ghee 2,750afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea 400afs and the same quantity of African black tea 450afs, higher than wholesale rates.

Arabian gold price increased.

Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Mariam area of Kabul said that the price of one gram of Arabian gold increased from 4,400afs to 4,450afs while the same quantity of Russian variety stayed at 3,500afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat Money Exchange Service in Sara-i-Shahzada Market in Kabul, said that one US dollar accounted for 86afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 480afs against last week’s rates of 87afs and 480afs respectively.
