Death of police officer being seriously investigated: MoI

KABUL (Pajhwok): The brother of a slain police officer, Qasim Qaim, claimed that Qaim was killed after being abducted in a government vehicle, while the interior ministry said the case was under serious investigation.

According to reports, Col. Qasim Qaim, general director of officers of Ministry of Interior, was called back to his post after the regime change in the country and served in the new administration for seven months.

Qaim’s brother, Mujahid told Radio Azadi that his brother (QasimQaim) was taken away in a gray government vehicle on his way home from work.

“We searched for him a lot, we couldn’t find him. We received a call from his number yesterday and we were told to take his body from the hospital,” he said.

However, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a video clip said, “The death of QasimQaim, a MoI official, is under serious investigation, the findings will be shared with the media.”
