Afghanistan moves UNSC against Pakistan attacks

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Naseer Ahmad Faiq, has lodged a protest against Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghan villages in Khost and Kunar provinces to the powerful UNSC and termed the action a blatant violation of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.

On his twitter handle, Ambassador Faiq wrote: “Afghanistan’s mission in UN officially lodged protest to the UNSC against Pakistani forces’ attacks on Afghan soil.”

He said the UN body was urged to take immediate steps to halt such attacks in the future and to address the problem in line with UNSC charter and principles.

Afghanistan foreign ministry also summoned Pakistani ambassador in Kabul and lodged a strong protest against Pakistan’s attacks on Afghan villages.
