Futsal Premier League kicks off in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Featuring nearly a dozen teams, Kabul Futsal Premier League started here on Saturday.

The tournament will continue for two weeks and the champions and runners-up of these competitions will find their way to the National Zone Competitions.

Yusuf Kargar, head of Afghan Football Federation, during the opening ceremony of the event, said that the Afghan National Futsal Team is a strong competitor for other teams in Asia and the world.

“Fortunately, during the last eight months, our football and futsal teams won pride nationally and internationally,” he added.

He said that Asian countries now realized that the capacity of Afghan football and futsal had significantly improved.

Kargar emphasized that the Afghan Futsal Premier League will be held with a great number of spectators.

In the first match of the tournament, ‘Sharifi Sport’ team beat ‘Sanayee’ team 1-0.
