Baradar leaves for UAE to condole ruler’s death

KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy prime minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has left for Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates, to condole the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

A statement issued from the First Deputy Prime Minister's Office said that a high-level government delegation led Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund arrived in Abu Dhabi to condole the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan with the new ruler Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Acting Government of Afghanistan congratulated the government and people of the United Arab Emirates on the election of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as head of state.

The ministry’s spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi wished the new UAE ruler success and hoped that the UAE would gain more peace, prosperity and development under his leadership.

"The United Arab Emirates has always stood by the Afghan people and extended a helping hand in difficult situations. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as always, seeks good relations with the brotherly country," the source said.
