KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has spurned UNSC monitoring team’s report regarding the presence of foreign militants in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently denied the existence and operations of foreign terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
Since their return to power last year, the Taliban had been able to stop the world and the region being harmed from Afghanistan, a statement from the ministry said.
It added the new Afghan government had consistently worked for the last nine months to create an environment of trust with regional countries and the world at large.
“The IEA reaffirms its commitment bot to allow anyone to use the territory of Afghanistan against others,” the statement stressed.
The ministry went on to call for an end to “unsubstantiated information” from anonymous sources.
It hoped the current Afghan government would be given its legitimate right to directly present factual information to the UNSC … through its permanent representative.
Releasing a report by the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team, the UN Security Council alleged the presence of Al-Qaeda and Daesh in Afghanistan.
