KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan have been routed in the final T20 match, conceding the five-match series to Ireland, a Pakistani TV channels reported on Thursday.
As result of the emphatic seven-wicket win on Wednesday night, the hosts clinched the series 3-2 against Afghanistan, GEO TV reported.
In the second over of the game, Mark Adair claimed two scalps in as many balls, removing Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Usman Ghani hit a quick-fire 20 off Singh’s solitary over, but Josh Little rocked Afghanistan’s innings with a double strike.
In the rain-curtailed match, the hosts who won the toss were given seven overs to chase 56, a target they achieved for the loss of only three wickets.
Although spinner Mujeebur Rahman dismissed the Irish openers, Andrew Balbirn and Paul Stirling helped Ireland romp home easily.
Having won the previous two outings to level the series 2-2, Afghanistan lost the decider and let the opposition emerge victorious.
