GHAZNI (Pajhwok): Three people were killed and five others wounded after two tribes clashed over a land dispute in southern Ghazni province, local officials said on Thursday.
Mawlawi Mansoor Ahmad Afghan, information and culture department director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash broke out in Deh Yak district between Ahmadzai and Mangal tribes over ownership of a land.
Afghan added three persons from one family (father and two sons) were killed while five more from both sides were injured with some in critical condition.
Security forces reached the scene and arrested some individuals for investigation, Afghan said.
Abdul Manaf, a tribal elder from Deh Yak district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the two families belonged to Mangal and Ahmadzai tribes and they fought over a small piece of land. He confirmed the casualties.
He added local residents concerned by the incident wanted the government to prevent such clashes.
