Fresh $40m humanitarian cash aid reaches Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Another package of 40 million US dollars as part of the international community’s humanitarian assistance has arrived in Kabul, the central bank said on Tuesday.

Da Afghanistan Bank tweeted that the fresh 40 million US dollars aid was deposited in a commercial bank in Kabul on Monday.

The bank urged the international community to interact and cooperate with Afghanistan in other banking areas as well.

It said sending humanitarian aid through the banking sector ensures transparency and facilitates the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people in need.

DAB said it was trying to provide better banking services to people and maintain good relations with all financial and banking institutions as per the rules and regulations.

The UN assistance mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says it has so far delivered one billion US dollars to Afghanistan in the past year in order to provide life-saving assistance to millions of Afghans.
