KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) says another cash package of $40 million has arrived in Kabul as part of the series of humanitarian assistance from the global fraternity.
Hasibullah Noori, a spokesman for the DAB, in a voice message told media that the cash assistance of $40 million reached Kabul on Tuesday as part of the humanitarian aid.
He said that sending humanitarian aid through the banking sector ensures transparency and facilitates the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people in need.
Noori added that the central bank appreciates the assistance of the international community and urge them to interact and cooperate with Afghanistan in other fields.
According to a Pajhwok report, Afghanistan received over $1.5 billion in humanitarian aid from the international community during the past 12 months.
Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) says the US, European countries and some other nations provided the aid while economic affairs experts say the inflow of foreign humanitarian assistance has a positive impact on the lives of common people in Afghanistan.
The UN assistance mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says it has so far delivered one billion US dollars to Afghanistan in the past year in order to provide life-saving assistance to millions of Afghans.
