KABUL/PESHAWR (Pajhwok): Afghan Ambassador Amir Khan Muttaqi has promised the Islamic Emirate will do all it can to bring to justice perpetrators of Friday’s attack on Pakistan embassy.
In a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Muttaqi assured Zardari the IEA would pay special attention to the security of the embassy.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, the top Afghan diplomat vehemently denounced Friday’s incident.
In Islamabad, the Foreign Office quoted Bilawal Zardari as saying: “The Afghan government must prevent terrorists from undermining relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism and said gis country would remain undeterred by such cowardly attacks.
Separately, the FO spokesperson explained there were no plans to shut the embassy or withdraw diplomats from Kabul.
