JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three school buildings in the Haska Mena and Pachir Agam district that were destroyed in the past conflict had been reconstructed by the Sweden Committee for Afghanistan (SCA), an official said on Wednesday.
Around 5,000 children are studying were getting education in these schools and its reconstruction cost 30 million afs, according to local official.
Nagarhar Education Director Mufti Habib Hazrat Haqqani told Pajhwok Afghan News the buildings of Paen and Shabio High Schools in Haska Mena district and the Pas Pachir High School in Pachir Agam districts had been reconstructed by the SCA.
He said around 5,000 students will be benefited from the reconstruction of these school buildings.
Haqqani thanked that SCA for the reconstruction of school buildings and called on other aid providing agencies to cooperate in the area of education.
He urged the residents of locality should take active part in the protection of these buildings and encourage their children to protect the buildings.
Local residents also hailed the SCA support in education sector.
Malak Anwar Khan, the resident of Shabio area in Haska Mena district, said these schools were destroyed in the airstrike by the past government during conflict with Daesh and its students were studying in under open sky.
He urged the government should pay more attention to the far-flung areas they suffered the most in the past conflict.
