Salang highway shut for cargo vehicles

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Salang highway that links Kabul with northern provinces was closed for cargo vehicles on Sunday due to heavy snowfall.

Mohammad Hafiz Yaqoobi, maintenance in-charge of the key highway, said the highway was closed due to heavy snowfall and storm.

He said the highway closed for cargo vehicles; other vehicles could travel on in compliance with traffic regulations.
