Thani was formally introduced as acting minister on Sunday in compliance with a decree from IEA Supreme Leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada.

The new minister, accepting all plans of his predecessor, promised he would proceed with incomplete works.
Employees of the ministry would not be changed, he said, adding no one would be appointed on the basis of nepotism.
