ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid says officials of the regime should have patience and tolerance for questions and criticism from the people, but the critics should not insult anyone.
Mujahid said this while addressing lecturers of universities attending a scientific and religious seminar, according the Radio Television of Afghanistan (RTA)
“Everyone can constructively criticize officials of the regime, but in the light of ethical principles,” he said.
He said government officials should have patience and tolerable for criticism and should respond if the criticism was wrong and bring reforms if the criticism was correct, calling such criticism a sort of the society’s cooperation with the system.
Mujahid said: “That is why we call officials those responsible, they are asked, God asks them as well. If they fail to implement justice and give people their rights, they are makhoz, it means Allah will hold them accountable for their responsibilities”.
From ethical perspective, he said, criticism of an official, minister, deputy minister and a director should be private and should not hurt their dignity.
Mujahid added if a criticizer had no access to the official to criticize him privately and expressed his objection in public, the official concerned should not harshly react and should provide proper answer and convince him.
He said: “We claim we have an Islamic government and our officials follow the footsteps of Khulafai Rashideen, then it a must to listen to the objections of the people and answer them with politeness, if someone does not follow this Islamic principal, it is a personal matter”.
The Islamic Emirate should be answerable to the people, he said.
Mujahid about the media said the country will develop in cooperation with the media and the media should work for national unity and avoid things that harm national unity.
He said media reports should not be discriminative against a tribe l and should have constructive broadcasts about the economy, security and the unity of the nation.
“We will staunchly support the media if they follow these principals”, he said.
Mujahid also asked all media outlets to adapt to the above mentioned framework and work for the survival of the regime and economic stability of the country.
