Tree plantation campaign launched in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A tree plantation campaign has been launched in western Farah province by planting seedlings in the under construction Imam Bukhari Park.

The Farah municipality launched the tree plantation campaign today from Imam Bukhari Park which is being built on a five-acre of land in Farah City.

Farah mayor Maulavi Idrees told Pajhwok Afghan News a total of 84,000 seedlings would be planted until the beginning of the new solar year.

“The Imam Bukhari Park will spread over five acres of land and we planted 1,000 orange seedlings today there”, the mayor said.

A total of 84,000 fruit bearing and ornamental seedlings will be planted all over the province, he added.

The seedlings have been provided by the Agriculture and Livestock Department to the municipality.
