KABUL (Pajhwok): Intelligence operatives have rescued an abducted man and killed three of kidnappers and arrested a fourth in the 17th police district of Kabul.
The General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) tweeted its personnel conducted a raid on a hideout of kidnappers and rescued Ainuddin.
GDI said Ainuddin had been kidnapped three months ago and his captors demanded one million dollars in ransom.
Ainuddin was reunited with his family, the directorate wrote, sying three of the kidnappers were killed and a fourth caught alive.
In a video clip released by GDI, Ainuddin said: “I am a small business man having two shops in Dubai. As I wanted to offer Isha (night) prayers, the kidnappers captured me near my house.”
He added: “I attempted to escape, but the the kidnappers struck me with rifle butts in my neck veins and I went numb. I don’t know how the 86 days elapsed.”
Sharif, who introduces himself as Ainuddin's nephew, says: "Three days after my uncle was kidnapped, his captors called us and asked for one million dollars in ransom.
“We took the issue to the GDI, whose personnel carried out a successful operation and released my uncle. We are extremely happy with the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate.”
In the video, a person named Mayel Agha says: "I kidnapped Ainuddin through my father and another person named Qomandan two and a half months ago. We arranged a special place for him in the house and brought him in. But the intelligence agents caught us.”
