KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Kandahar Governor Mohammad Yousaf Wafa has been sent to northern Balkh to control affairs of the northern province.
Haji Zaid, his spokesman, said the Islamic Emirate leadership had asked Wafa to handle Balkh affairs until new governor was appointed for the province.
Zaid told Pajhwok Afghan News Wafa had reached Mazar-i-Sharif to take charge of the Balkh administration.
He explained in line with IEA’s decision, Kandahar’s affairs would be managed by the deputy governor in the absence of Wafa.
On Thursday, Balkh governor Maulvi Muhammad Dawood Muzammil was killed along with two others in a Daesh-claimed suicide bombing at his office.
