PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead in Baghlan province the TAPI project Intelligence unit head for northern Balkh province, security sources said on Sunday.
A Balkh-based security official told Pajhwok Afghan News unidentified gunmen martyred Jawed, the head of the TAPI intelligence, on the Mazar-i-Sharif-Baghlan highway last night.
Jawed was a resident of the Qand Fabrika’ area of Baghlan-i-Markazi district, the source added.
No one has been arrested yet on suspicion of involvement in the murder incident, but an investigation has been launched.
But Maulvi Sher Ahmad, spokesman for the Baghlan police headquarters, said a body had been recovered from Chashma Sher area but he did not offer further detail about the incident.
A private company contractor was killed in Baghlan province some time ago.
