KABUL (Pajhwok): A female Afghan student who has gone to the United States for higher education has won four scholarships from leading American universities.
Farida Razzaqi wrote about the scholarships she has won on her Facebook page on Saturday.
Razzaqi studied at the Public Administration and Diplomacy Department of Herat University before she obtained her first master’s degree in law, environment and human resources from the Buffalo University of New York as a Fulbright scholar.
She has succeeded in simultaneously earning four scholarships from Harvard, Colombia, Buffalo and Cornell Universities.
These scholarships can pave the way for her acquiring master’s degrees in law, environment and society, development and a possible doctorate in law.
But literally spoiled for choice, Razzaqi now has to opt for only one scholarship to pursue higher studies.
She wrote: “My simultaneous acceptance into four universities --God has helped me all along, even in times when I had forgotten myself.”
Earlier, Germany announced paying $7 million for the education of 5,000 female Afghan students, who are in Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan for higher studies.
