KABUL (Pajhwok): The interim government says the Islamic State, locally known as Daesh, has been undermined considerably in Afghanistan.
Some countries are exaggerating the threat posed by the terrorist group in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate spokesman alleges.
Zabihullah Mujahid said in an interview Daesh, which often claims responsibility for deadly attacks in Afghanistan, did not have an organised physical presence in the country
Speaking to the state broadcaster, he insisted claims by some countries about the growing Daesh threat were mere propaganda.
Mujahid told RTA major world powers should realise that positive engagement, not the use of pressure tactics, was in the interest of the global fraternity.
Under pressure from big powers, countries, especially third world countries, were reluctant to recognise the Islamic Emirate, he believed.
