GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Unknown miscreants set ablaze a middle school of boys in this capital city of southern Ghazni province and was partially burnt down.
Ghazni education director Maulvi Syed Basir Ahmad Agha on Saturday said unknown people on Friday night set the school on fire.
He said security forces were investigating the incident and were searching for those involved in order to hand them over to the law.
He said security forces were quick to reach the area and doused the fire, preventing further damage to the school building.
Local residents confirmed the incident that took place late Friday night.
Hussaindad Ramzani, a tribal elder, told Pajhwok that only two-three rooms were damaged and school related documents, books, desks, some chairs and many other educational accessories were burnt.
He said the fire was brought under control on time, otherwise it would have engulfed the entire building.
