BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): At least 21 individuals have been arrested in connection with smuggling and dealing narcotics over the past two months in central Bamyan province, with thousands of kilograms of drugs seized.
Police spokesman Mohammad Khwani Rasa told Pajhwok Afghan News these suspects were arrested and the drugs seized during 33 separate operations over the past two months.
He said 21 suspected detained, 26 tons of ephedra and 1,589 kilograms of alcoholic drugs, some crystal meth, hashish and opium were seized.
Rasa said: “The initial investigation suggests some of the detainees were involved in producing narcotics and other illicit activities.”
