Afghanistan finish 2nd in CAFA championship

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan have finished second in the Central Asian Futsal Association Championship 2023, edging past Turkmenistan 3-2.

Iran clinched the six-nation championship by outplaying the hosts Tajikistan 1-0 in their last match on Sunday. Uzbekistan grabbed the third spot.

Afghanistan Football Federation chief Mohammad Yusuf Kargar said the event featured strong Asian squads.

“Fortunately, Afghan athletes managed to become runners-up in the tournament for the first time. I would like to congratulate the entire nation on this great achievement.”
