Russian traders keen to invest in Afghan energy, agri sectors

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian businessmen have expressed their interest in investing in Afghanistan’s electricity and agriculture fields, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on Tuesday.

The ministry wrote on its Twitter page that deputy commerce and industry minister Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal met with a delegation of traders from Russia.

It quoted the Russian delegation as saying: “We are ready to invest in Afghanistan’s power, agriculture and utilities sectors. We give priority to Afghanistan’s products and the Russians evince keen interest in Afghanistan’s fresh fruits.”

The Russian delegation asked the Islamic Emirate to establish a joint commercial representative office in both countries in order traders were able to export their commercial goods with ease.
