KABUL (Pajhwok): Thirty humanitarian workers were killed in the past two years in Afghanistan, a top UN official said on Sunday.

UN Humanitrian Aid Coordinator for Afghanistan Daniel Andres on the World Humanitarian Day said that without humanitarians million will go without basics that human needed for survival.

He added “We also take a moment to recoganise those humanitarian workers who have lose their lives were injured, abducted, arrested or remain in captivity or detention in the line of duty, this included the 30 aid workers killed during the last two years many of whom were polio vaccinator or deminers”

“The focus of this year’s world humanitarian day reminds us of the continued risks facing the humanitarians as they go about their work, this is not acceptable.”
