PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistani law-enforcement personnel claim to have detained more than 330 foreigners living illegally in Islamabad.
The 334 foreigners arrested hailed from Afghanistan, Nigeria and African countries. Cases were filed against them under the Foreign Act.
Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has ordered the crackdown on illegal foreigners, endorsed by Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
A police spokesman said investigations regarding 89 foreigners illegally living in Pakistan had been submitted to courts.
At least 16 have been released on bail. 15 sent to police lock-ups and 15 foreigners discharged after being found innocent during investigations.
