KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan Kourosh wrestler Sultan Hussain Baiqra has won a bronze medal by defeating two rivals in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (ANOC) wrote on its X handle that Baiqra won the medal after he outplayed his Indian and Kuwaiti opponents.
Baiqra will enter the ring against his Uzbekistani rival in quest of bagging a silver medal in his third bout, ANOC said.
The Asian Games have officially commenced in Hangzhou, China, on September 23. More than 80 Afghan athletes are participating in 15 different sports.
Mohammad Khalid Hotak, Nasratullah Habibi and Muhsin Rezaee have already won bronze medals in taekwondo at the mega event.
