KABUL (Pajhwok): The acting interior minister has underlined the imperative of unity of thought among the people and the need for sincere efforts to win public, confidence.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) issued in a statement on Friday that Sirajuddin Haqqani issued the call at a meeting with Kabul officials.
The acting minister told the gathering: “Kabul province represents the current image of the country. Capital officials were responsible for improving governance.
“If we look at the responsibilities, the Mujahidin have many achievements and some shortcomings.”
Haqqani thinks the coordination between the security institutions is important and work must be done the gain the trust of the public.
The thoughts of the people were ruined during the invasion of the country, work is needed to be done to remove the fear of the people as soon as possible.
Haqqani said: “The courts have fulfilled their responsibilities and no one can violate anyone’s rights. More research is needed to reach the truth, the core of the government is scholars who fear God and know their duties.
“We cannot unite or control the Afghans; instead we can create unity of thought among them based on spirituality and morality. If we surrender to God’s will, the people will surrender to us.”
Deputy Interior Ministry Maulvi Mohammad Nabi Omari warned if recklessness was chosen over reforms, the ruling system would face challenges as some countries were plotting to overthrow the Islamic Emirate.
If everyone focussed on discharging their responsibilities, the world would not be able to decide the future of Afghanistan or other Islamic countries, Omari said.
Kabul Governor Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Rashid said: “After their victory, Mujahidin has the responsibility to defend and stabilise this Islamic system. However convenient it may be, this phase involves a heavy responsibility.”
The intelligence chief for Kabul also urged personnel to implement the orders of their leaders in a proper manner and use every moment of their life for the welfare of the nation.
Instead of nepotism and narrow nationalistic considerations, merit must be given priority in appointments, he stressed.
