ATLANTA (Pajhwok): The High Commission for addressing problems of the deported refugees has held its maiden meeting and made key decisions.
The commission met for the first time under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi on Saturday, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
Mandates and activities of the various committees were determined, the statement said, adding each body was asked to discharge its responsibilities effectively and embark on its duties.
Important decisions were taken on the provision of assistance to returning refugees, within the resources of the Islamic Emirate and a series of their issues.
According to another report, the information and public awareness committee of the commission also held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, acting minister of information and culture.
Matters related to the committee came up for discussion and views were exchanged about how to deal with its responsibilities, the ministry said in a statement.
The committee members also discussed ways of creating better coordination with the provincial departments. They shared their suggestions and ideas with the head of the committee.
