6 killed as vehicle plunges into canal in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Six people died, half of them children, and a seventh was injured in a traffic accident in Garamsir district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Monday.

Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, deputy director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a vehicle fell into a canal in Takhtapul area of the district on Monday morning.

He said six people were killed and one was injured in the incident. He added the victims included a man, two women and three children.
