Snowfall, rainfall predicted in northern provinces

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Metrological Department of the Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation has predicted heavy snowfall and rainfall along with flash floods in 11 provinces of the country in the next 24 hours, according to a statement on Monday.

The precipitation is expected to talk place in Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Samangan, Parwan, Baghlan, Panjshir, Kapesa, Laghman and Nuristan provinces, the statement said.

The amount of rain is said to be from 10 mil to 30 mil and snow from 15 cm to 40 cm in these provinces.

This comes that a couple of days back some provinces received the first light snowfall and rainfall of the ongoing winter season.
