KABUL (Pajhwok): Two Afghan players Mohsin Rezaee and Hikmatullah Zain have won bronze medals in the ongoing 11th Al Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship 2024 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Afghanistan National Taekwondo Federation (ANTF) said on Monday.
ANTF coach Bashir Tarakai told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghan athlete Hikmatullah Zain clinched the bronze medal by defeating his three opponents.
Similarly, Mohsin Rezaee also defeated as many opponents and won bronze, Tarakai said.
Three other Afghan taekwondo athletes Ramin Amini, Omaid Sahak and Ali Akbar Amiri also defeated their rivals, but did not win any medal, he added.
According to Tarakai, about 1,000 athletes from 64 countries are participating in the championship.
