CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Due to the recent rain and snowfall, the Salang Pass has been shut for trucks, but passenger vehicles continue to ply the route, officials said on Sunday.
Head of Salang Maintenance Authority Maulvi Abdul Haleem Agha told Pajhwok Afghan News the key route had been shut on both sides for heavy vehicles.
However the highway remains open for passenger vehicles. Trucks would be allowed in intervals to ply the route later in the day, Agha said.
Today is a rainy day in northern Salang and snowfall is likely in the southern part. Agha asked drivers to follow traffic rules and pay attention to safety measures.
