10,997 Afghans returned from Iran, Pakistan in past 7 days

KABUL (Pajhwok): Nearly 11,000 Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan by force or voluntarily from Iran and Pakistan in the past seven years, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Thursday.

Facts and figures from the MoRR showed 3,978 individuals and 760 families have returned from Pakistan via Torkham crossing.

In addition, 7,018 individuals have returned from Iran via Islam Qala crossing.

Earlier, European Union in a statement said that 17 million Euro has been provided in Assistance for Afghan returnees from Pakistan and Iran.
