UNICEF donates medicines, equipment to Uruzgan clinics

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has provided medicines and medical equipment worth $500,000 to health centers in central Uruzgan province.

UNICEF donated 20 types of medicines and medical equipment to health facilities in Chinaratu, Gezab and Khas Uruzgan districts.

UNICEF head Francis Busiku Butichi in a meeting said they donated the medicines and equipment to three clinics and were committed to cooperating in the health sector in the province.

Officials welcomed the UNICEF’s new aid and demanded more cooperation in this section.

Deputy Governor Mullah Bari Gul said some health problems of residents will be solved with this aid and asked other aid organizations to provide more assistance to health facilities.
